iPhone Duo Users Report Ongoing Cracking Issues, Expressing Frustration

The debut of the iPhone Duo, Apple’s highly awaited foldable smartphone, has encountered significant challenges. The device was unveiled during this year’s Surprise and Shine event, where Apple assured consumers that it had successfully addressed the complexities associated with this innovative form factor. However, according to hinews, initial users of the Duo have reported issues with screens cracking “after just hours or days of use.” Some individuals have described hearing a loud crunching sound, which was soon followed by the emergence of a crack. Additionally, there have been reports of display malfunctions. 404 Media has also indicated that early users are experiencing “big fat creases down the middle of the [$2,000] folding screen.” Hinews reached out to Apple for a statement and will provide updates should the company respond. Apple informed Bloomberg that it was “aware of an issue impacting the inner display on a small number of iPhone Duo units.” The quest to create a viable foldable smartphone has long been a goal in Silicon Valley; however, many of the models introduced thus far have encountered similar problems. While Apple claimed to have mastered the technology, these initial complaints imply that the issue may persist.
