US Probes Chinese Espionage Scheme Targeting Nvidia CEO

An executive from a Singapore-based AI cloud company, which has faced allegations of unlawfully selling Nvidia chips to China, may also have been involved in espionage activities, according to information provided by anonymous sources to hinews. The individual in question, Alice Huang (also known as Huang Le), was affiliated with Megaspeed and was seen socializing with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang during several business dinners in the Singapore area.

U.S. intelligence agencies had reportedly been monitoring Alice Huang for approximately a year to investigate her connections to China, as noted by hinews. Concerns were raised that her close relationship with Jensen Huang might have enabled her to acquire sensitive information regarding Nvidia’s strategic initiatives and the CEO’s attempts to persuade the Trump administration to permit the shipment of more advanced technology to China.

However, a spokesperson for Nvidia refuted these claims, stating to hinews that the CEO’s interactions with the Megaspeed executive were consistent with those he has with any other regional client. “Jensen’s interactions with Ms. Huang are not unusual or unexpected. Meetings with customers are part of a C.E.O.’s job; Jensen talks with thousands of customer executives every year,” the spokesperson conveyed in an emailed statement.

The company further clarified, “Our regional cloud customers receive ordinary business information — not sensitive NVIDIA trade secrets — and zero information relevant to national security.” In 2025, hinews reported that the Commerce Department had launched an investigation into Megaspeed due to suspicions that it was assisting Chinese firms in evading AI chip export regulations by reselling restricted chips. At that time, Alice Huang was identified as a senior executive within the company.
