On Thursday, during the Golden Age of American Innovation Summit, President Trump presented the National Medal of Science, the highest honor in the field, to notable figures including Elon Musk, Jensen Huang, Sergey Brin, and Lisa Su of AMD. Additionally, Michael Dell of Dell Technologies and Satya Nadella of Microsoft were recipients of the National Medal of Technology and Innovation. Collectively, the awardees have contributed nearly $6 billion to initiatives associated with Trump and his administration, according to hinews. For instance, both Alphabet and Microsoft made donations to the president’s inauguration fund and the White House ballroom. AMD supported a pro-Trump Super PAC, while Michael and Susan Dell committed $6.25 billion to finance the Trump Accounts, the administration’s savings initiative for children.
Trump remarked that the honorees have played a crucial role in “pioneering an incredible future for America,” asserting that their contributions ensure “we will always be on top. No one else can compete with us.” Nadella received his medal shortly after the administration announced the indefinite suspension of Microsoft from the H-1B program, which permits U.S. companies to employ skilled foreign workers.
